1. What these terms cover

These terms govern your use of the hosted service at dashcamigo.app, operated by an individual developer ("we"). By using the app you accept them. A self-hosted copy of the app is governed by its software license (AGPL-3.0-only), not by these terms.

2. The service

dashcamigo is a free web app for viewing dashcam recordings and saving clips from them. No account is needed and no payment is ever requested. Your recordings are processed on your device and are not uploaded; the little the service does receive is described in the Privacy policy.

3. Your recordings, your responsibility

Your recordings stay yours - we claim no rights to them. Laws on recording, keeping and publishing dashcam footage differ by country: you are responsible for using the app and sharing its exports lawfully, including the privacy of other people in the footage. Because your files never reach us, we cannot review or moderate them.

Tools that hide license plates and faces are assistive: automatic detection can miss an object or lose it mid-motion. Review the result before you share - the responsibility for what an exported video reveals is yours.

4. Acceptable use

Do not disrupt or overload the service, and do not use the feedback channels to send unlawful or malicious content.

5. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", free of charge and without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it is error-free or always available, or that every recording can be read, played or exported. Keep your originals: an export is a convenience copy, not a replacement for the files on your memory card.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data or recordings, arising from using - or being unable to use - the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects statutory consumer rights.

7. Brand

The dashcamigo name, logo and brand mark are not covered by the software license and may not be used to identify a fork or a rehosted instance.

8. Changes

The service is free and evolves: features may change or be discontinued at any time. These terms may change too - the effective date at the top will be updated, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
