How Thinkware stores recordings
Thinkware F-series cameras (F200, F750, F770, F800 and newer) store GPS as NMEA-RMC sentences inside a subtitle (sbtl) track of the MP4 — not a separate log file. Filenames follow REC_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS_<F|R>.mp4, where F is the front and R the rear channel, and recordings are sorted into cont_rec / evt_rec / park_rec folders by mode. dashcamigo reads the subtitle NMEA track, joins it with the video and draws the route automatically.

FAQ
Which Thinkware models work in dashcamigo?
Thinkware cameras that write the NMEA subtitle track work out of the box: F200 / F200 Pro, F750, F770, F800 / F800 Pro, Q800 Pro, U1000, X1000, F70 and others. Models recording without GPS, or with the GPS antenna detached, still play — just without a route on the map.
Do I need Thinkware Dashcam Viewer or the Thinkware Cloud app?
No. dashcamigo plays Thinkware recordings without any Thinkware software or account. Plug the SD card into your computer, drop the folder onto dashcamigo.app — trips appear with map and chart. The Thinkware Cloud and Dashcam Viewer apps route through Thinkware; dashcamigo is a free, fully-offline alternative for SD-card files.
Will my Thinkware recordings be uploaded?
No. There is no backend. The browser reads files locally with the File System Access API and decodes them with WebCodecs. Nothing leaves your device.
Does dashcamigo show both front and rear Thinkware cameras?
Yes. Thinkware dual-channel models write a front (F) and rear (R) file for the same moment. dashcamigo groups them into one trip and plays both in sync. Click either channel to make it the main view, or keep them side by side.
Can I trim and export a clip from a Thinkware recording?
Yes. Drag a range on the speed chart, click Export, and dashcamigo writes an MP4 with the GPS track embedded as GPMF metadata. The original H.264/H.265 video is stream-copied (no re-encoding) when possible. You can also burn speed, coordinates and a mini-map onto the frame, or export the route as a separate .gpx.
